Job summary

remoteo is seeking an Observability Expert to strengthen monitoring and reliability for a leading energy sector partner. You will instrument applications for metrics, build tracing and logging pipelines, and collaborate with stakeholders to define the SLIs and SLOs that matter most.

You will bring deep Datadog and AWS expertise, translate reliability into KPIs and dashboards, and instrument Python applications (TypeScript/Java a plus) across services.

Qualifications

• Experience with Datadog APM and custom metrics.
• Ability to define SLIs/SLOs with business stakeholders.
• Strong AWS knowledge and practical experience.
• Proficient in Python; TypeScript/Java a plus.
• Experience with structured logging and dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Instrument applications for metrics and tracing using Datadog APM.
• Leverage logs as metrics sources (CloudWatch/Datadog).
• Define SLIs/SLOs with stakeholders and translate to KPIs.
• Implement structured logging across services.
• Design high-level business dashboards from telemetry.
• Instrument Python apps; TypeScript/Java as needed.
