Job summary

BranCore Technologies, LLC is seeking a Senior Microsoft SQL Developer to lead modernization efforts of legacy databases into microservice-aligned schemas. You will provide hands-on SQL and .NET engineering and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive architecture and delivery.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive SQL Server and Azure experience, and a track record of delivering complex data migrations within an agile environment onsite in Richmond, VA.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead design discussions for microservices, databases, and API integration.
• Provide hands-on SQL engineering including schema modernization, stored procedures, views, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Support .NET API development as needed, including backend services and data access patterns.
• Guide senior engineering talent with strong, engaging technical leadership.
• Collaborate with the PM/Scrum Master to support project execution and decision-making.
• Work closely with the veteran SME for technical alignment and domain expertise.
• Build migration logic and data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Ensure SQL modernization aligns with microservice boundaries and audit timelines.
• Participate in code reviews and documentation reviews.
• Collaborate with .NET, SQL, BA, QA, DevOps, Cloud, and CAB teams for cohesive delivery.
• Support compliance requirements including PCI, retention rules, and secure data handling.
• Operate effectively within delivery workflows and agile components as needed.

Job description

Contract Length: 12 months, with possible extension based on performance and project need. This role follows a hybrid work schedule requiring the developer to be onsite at leasdt 1 day per week.

Senior Microsoft SQL Developer

The Microservices Technical Lead (SQL/.NET) supports thetolling modernization program by providing functional leadership, hands-on SQLand .NET engineering, and collaborative solution design.
