Job summary

Google seeks an experienced software engineer to shape capacity planning and VM resource distribution across global fleets. You will build scalable infrastructure solutions, collaborating with multiple teams on advanced capacity forecasting and efficiency initiatives.

The role emphasizes leadership in cross-functional projects, architectural design, and delivering resilient systems at scale within Google’s AI and Cloud infrastructure ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience required.
• 8 years of experience programming in C++.
• 7 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or related compute/storage hardware.
• 5 years of experience with design and architecture; testing/launching software products.

Responsibilities

• Lead capacity planning and workload prediction for VM resource distribution.
• Architect and implement fungibility and capacity-sharing across teams.
• Drive efficiency with overcommit technologies and scheduling improvements.
• Enable NPIs and AI accelerator initiatives (GPUs/TPUs) via capacity observability.
• Guide executives on cloud infrastructure investments and cross-team coordination.
