Job summary

Franklin Madison Group LLC is seeking a senior data engineer to design, develop, and maintain large-scale AWS data warehouse solutions, with emphasis on Redshift and data modeling.

You will collaborate with business stakeholders and data engineers to deliver robust data models, implement ETL pipelines using AWS services, and optimize performance while ensuring security and governance. This hybrid role is based in Maryland and requires 5+ years of related experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS or related field with 5+ years of related experience.
  • 5+ years designing and maintaining large-scale Java apps in AWS.
  • 5+ years implementing ETL pipelines with AWS services (EC2/S3/Glue/Lambda/Step Functions).
  • 5+ years with AWS Lambda, RDS, S3, Step Functions, Java, Spring.
  • 2+ years designing and maintaining large-scale Data Warehouse solutions in AWS.
  • 2+ years with AWS Glue, Python, Qlik and Power BI.
  • 5 years designing and modifying software systems using scientific/mathematical models.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain large-scale AWS data warehouse solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and data engineers to gather requirements and deliver data models.
  • Implement ETL pipelines using AWS services (Glue, Lambda, Step Functions).
  • Optimize performance of data warehouse and ETL processes.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of data solutions.
  • Integrate data from multiple sources into a unified warehouse.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data warehouse performance and data integrity.
  • Create automated workflows for data ingestion, transformation, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data accessibility.
  • Develop data models, data dictionaries, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy in AWS.

Description
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale data warehouse solutions in AWS, primarily using Amazon Redshift (20%)
  • Collaborating with business stakeholders and data engineers to gather requirements and deliver data models and architectures that meet the needs of the business (10%)
  • Implementing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines using ASW services such as AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, and AWS Step Function (10%)
  • Optimizing and fine-tuning the performance of the data warehouse and ETL processes (10%)
  • Ensuring high availability, scalability, and security of data warehouse solutions (5%)
  • Integrating data from various sources (databases, S3 files, Salesforces, etc.) into a unified data warehouse (5%)
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting issues related to data warehouse performance and data integrity (5%)
  • Creating and maintaining automated workflows and processes for data ingestion, transformation, and reporting (10%)
  • Collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure that data is accessible and available for analysis (10%)
  • Developing data models, data dictionaries, and documentation for users and team members (10%)
  • and Ensuring compliance with best practices in data governance, security, and privacy within AWS (5%)
Requirements
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field plus five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience must include five (5) years of experience with solutioning, designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale Java applications and systems in AWS
  • five (5) years of experience with implementing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines using AWS services such as any one or a combination of AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, or AWS Step Function
  • five (5) years of experience with any one or a combination of AWS Lambda, AWS RDS, AWS S3, AWS Step Functions, Java, Spring
  • Two (2) years of experience with designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale Data Warehouse solutions in AWS
  • Two (2) years of experience with AWS Glue, Python, Qlik and Power BI
  • and five (5) years of experience with designing, developing, and modifying software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design

This is a hybrid role and may work from home within commuting distance of the office up to 2 days a week and must work in the office a minmum of 3 days a week. 5 days/40hrs/wk
