Burtch Works is seeking a Technical Lead to join the CRE Originations Technology team in a hybrid role (Brooklyn, OH area). The ideal candidate brings 8+ years in development with 3+ years of leadership, strong .NET/C#, and cloud-based architecture expertise.

The role owners architecture, development, integration, and ongoing support of CRE lending platforms, collaborating with stakeholders, vendors, and engineering teams to deliver scalable technology solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of application development, systems integration, or software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of technical leadership experience leading development teams or large-scale technology initiatives.
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise applications in complex environments.
  • Strong experience with .NET/C#, REST APIs and service-oriented architectures, SQL and relational databases, system integrations and middleware technologies, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices, cloud and SaaS application architectures, and Git, Azure DevOps, GitLab, or similar toolsets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical strategy and architecture for REC Originations applications and integrations.
  • Design scalable, secure, maintainable solutions supporting commercial real estate lending processes.
  • Define application architecture standards, integration patterns, and engineering best practices.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve operational efficiency and reduce technical debt.
  • Provide technical leadership for modernization and transformation initiatives involving SaaS and cloud-based platforms.
  • Lead development, enhancement, implementation, and support activities across the REC technology ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with product owners and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Review and approve technical designs, code, deployment plans, and implementation strategies.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, testing strategies, CI/CD practices, and security requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and production support activities.
  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert for Moody's CreditLens and supporting REC applications.
  • Support integrations between CreditLens and internal lending, workflow, document, and data platforms.
  • Drive technical solutions supporting deal intake, underwriting, financial spreading, credit approvals, covenant tracking, and portfolio management processes.
  • Partner with business and vendor teams to evaluate platform capabilities and roadmap opportunities.
  • Mentor developers and engineers while fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to project teams.
  • Lead root‑cause analysis and resolution of complex technical issues.
  • Establish performance, availability, resiliency, and monitoring standards for supported applications.
  • Promote Agile delivery practices and continuous improvement across the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of CRE origination, underwriting, credit approval, and portfolio management processes.
  • Experience integrating third-party SaaS platforms with enterprise applications.
  • Familiarity with enterprise data integration, cloud platforms, and modern API architectures.
  • Experience supporting regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements within financial services.
  • Architecture certification or advanced technical certifications preferred.
