Job summary

Leidos in McLean, VA, seeks a Technical Intelligence Editor to professionally edit analytical products supporting US national security objectives. You will work in a team environment to ensure accuracy, sourcing, and formatting of finished intelligence publications.

The role requires strong editorial experience, a TS/SCI with Polygraph, and a Bachelor’s (or Master’s) in English/Linguistics or related field with extensive relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Must have TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Strong editorial experience and ability to edit analytical products for US national security objectives.
• Bachelor's degree in English, Linguistics, or related subject and 12+ years of relevant experience or Master’s with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience editing Finished Intelligence Products or Intelligence Assessments viewed by IC/DoD; 1–5 pages.
• Experience editing and sourcing Finished Intelligence products with analysts and managers.
• Exposure to US foreign policy and interagency coordination processes.
• Knowledge of national security classification procedures is mandatory.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Track Changes.

Responsibilities

• Review and edit products to align with customer style guide standards; edit graphics and ensure proper formatting.
• Verify proper sourcing of products and graphics.
• Finalize publications.
• Provide archiving support.
• Track edited work and ensure workflow through production process.
• Work within production schedules and coordinate with all parties involved.
• Produce, deliver, and archive finished intelligence publications.
• Possibility of non-traditional schedule: Mon–Thu 12:00pm–10:00pm; 15% shift differential may apply.

Job Description

The Technical Intelligence Editor will be responsible for professionally editing analytical products that support key US national security and foreign policy objectives on CT issues. The Technical Intelligence Editor will be expected to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and edit products to align with customer style guide standards. Review and edit graphics, including interactive media, assist in the development of visual aids, and ensure proper formatting.


• Verify proper sourcing of products and graphics.


• Finalize publications.


• Provide archiving support.


• Track edited work product and ensure its workflow through the production process.


• Work within production schedules and coordinate with all parties involved.


• Produce, deliver, and archive finished intelligence publications.


• This position requires the ability to support a non-traditional schedule: Monday - Thursday:12:00pm to 10:00pm. A candidate may be asked to work additionalhours when needed. 15%shift differential may apply to certain hours.

Basic Qualifications

• Must have a TS/SCI with Polygraph.


• Strong editorial experience.


• Bachelor's degree in English, Linguistics, or related subjectand12+years of relevant experience orMasterswith 10+ years of relevant experience.


• Experience with editing Finished Intelligence Products or Intelligence Assessments (products that are viewable for the greater IC or DoD) that range from 1-5 pages.


• Must have previousexperience editing and sourcing Finished Intelligence products in support of an IC customer, with a proventrack recordof collaborating with analysts and managers.


• Relevant exposure to US foreign policy, national security CTobjectives, and the interagency coordination process.


• Knowledge of national security classification procedures is mandatory.


• Experience adhering to a publication style guide.


• Ability to work in a fast pace/short turnaround environment (periodically).


• Experience w/ Microsoft Word (specifically, Track Changes).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Adobe InDesign is desired.

Pay Range

Pay Range $116,350.00 - $210,325.00
