The Global Connectivity Infrastructure Development (GCID) organization within AWS deploys all fiber infrastructure globally. We are looking for a TIPM II – Material Development to support in executing this program’s mission. You will own tactical workstreams across the material development pipeline. Driving vendor development timelines, coordinating qualification trials, managing program tracking, and ensuring every material in the pipeline moves efficiently through gates toward global deployment. You’ll work at the intersection of product development, supply chain, and field engineering, helping AWS introduce materials that solve real deployment challenges created by next-generation fabric architectures.

Key job responsibilities
  • Own day-to-day tracking of materials through lifecycle to ensure tasks clear gates on schedule
  • Manufacturer Development Coordination - Manage tactical development timelines with vendor R&D partners; track milestones, document action items.
  • Qualification & Testing Programs - Coordinate field trials end-to-end: develop test plans, manage sample logistics and lab scheduling, attend field deployments with vendors, validate runbooks, and compile Post-Test Findings reports against defined success criteria
  • Prototype Management - Support RFQ processes, track vendor build progress, coordinate lab-based Initial Validation, and document Go/No-Go decisions
  • Documentation & Force Multiplication - Create and maintain standardized templates, runbooks, evaluation rubrics, and document libraries
  • Cross-functional Coordination - Work across procurement, standards, quality assurance, fiber engineering, and field deployment teams globally to align material introductions with regional deployment timelines
  • IP Awareness - Flag novel solutions during development for patent consideration; support IP documentation and filings using program mechanisms
  • Stakeholder Communication - Prepare monthly program updates, draft content for senior leadership
  • Travel: 10–30% - Vendor sites, labs, field trials - frequency varies by active development phase
