Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Technical Infrastructure Program Manager to drive data-driven improvements in global data center operations.

You will lead cross-functional teams, manage end-to-end programs, and develop scalable processes to ensure durable and reliable data center inventory and power topology accuracy. You will report to the Data Center Delivery Business Operations Manager and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that affect capacity delivery

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of technical program management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a discipline that requires problem-solving, typically Engineering, Physics, Finance, Business or equivalent professional experience.
  • Knowledge of MS-Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds.

Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders to define requirements and processes.
  • Manage dependencies and interfaces between projects and/or deliverables, and negotiate trade-offs.
  • Provide program progress reporting on a regular basis.
  • End to end responsibility for the program’s execution and success.
  • Manage multiple competing projects/programs simultaneously.
  • Run meetings, create and maintain timelines, and keep large groups informed of progress and obstacles.
  • Ensure consistency in deployed configurations and track exceptions for follow up.
  • Develop and implement scalable, data-driven process improvement/automated solutions.
  • Assist in daily operational tasks as part of the Data Center Delivery workflow.

Play a key role in operational improvement within Amazon Web Services, where we have a history and tradition of innovative technologies and services. Reporting to the Data Center Delivery Business Operations Manager, you will have the opportunity join a team that partners across the global AWS infrastructure organizations to shape the future of the AWS profile and tempo to which we deliver.

The Data Center Delivery Business Operations team is seeking a highly-skilled & driven Technical Infrastructure Program Manager who will help drive the team toward our mission of building durable and reliable data informed processes within AWS Infrastructure. The ideal candidate has experience managing global infrastructure projects/programs; developing, monitoring, and reporting project/program health metrics; leading cross-functional teams; developing & implementing change management plans; training and mentoring performance; and driving process improvements. As a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager within this team focused on global data center inventory and power topology accuracy, you will be responsible for organizing and managing continuous improvement and automation initiatives and play a significant role in developing, driving and managing scalable, data-driven processes.

Key job responsibilities

A day in the life

The Soapstone TIPM's responsibilities are split between Program or Project related initiatives to support additional scope or process improvement related to capacity delivery, as well as operational ticket-based tasks of creation and configuration of rack positions within the digital data hall inventory system.

About The Team

Soapstone plays a critical role in the Data Center delivery workflow. By maintaining accurate server rack position data in the digital data hall inventory system, Soapstone ensures on time rack ordering to fulfill Data Center capacity needs.

Basic Qualifications
  • 2+ years of technical program management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a discipline that requires problem-solving, typically Engineering, Physics, Finance, Business or equivalent professional experience
  • Knowledge of MS-Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
  • Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in data center, networking engineering, systems engineering or construction management with a good understanding of data center technologies such as power, cooling and controls systems

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
