Job summary

Dayton T. Brown, Inc. is seeking a skilled Technical Illustrator for its Technical Publications Division in Cincinnati, OH.

The role requires daily in-person attendance and US citizenship with an active Secret clearance. The candidate will develop detailed technical drawings from engineering data, collaborate with engineers and writers, and ensure consistency with standards and customer specifications. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of experience, a relevant degree or equivalent, and

Qualifications

• 2- or 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years' experience developing technical illustrations for commercial or military programs (SVG, CGM, etc.).
• Experience as Technical Illustrator, Graphic Designer, or similar role.
• Portfolio showcasing technical illustration work.
• Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD software.
• Solid understanding of engineering drawings and 3D modeling principles.
• Familiar with S1000D specification.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
• US Citizenship - Required
• Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed technical drawings and illustrations from engineering data, CAD models, and technical specifications.
• Create 2D illustrations from 3D models, photos, and documents.
• Collaborate with engineers and writers to translate requirements into visuals.
• Ensure consistency with standards and customer specifications.
• Create exploded views, assemblies, cutaways, and schematics.
• Optimize illustrations for print, digital, and web formats.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining quality.
• Review customer comments and redlines and coordinate actions.
