Job summary

EA SPORTS Madden NFL Football is seeking a hands-on Technical Game Designer to shape presentation features and complex systems. You’ll partner with design, engineering and content teams to prototype, implement, iterate, and polish—from early concept through live tuning.

This on-site hybrid role in Orlando, FL requires shipping experience, strong knowledge of gameplay mechanics, and the ability to prototype and iterate rapidly.

Qualifications

• Experience with scripting languages (Lua, Python, Javascript)
• Worked on multiple shipped titles as a Technical Designer
• Passion for crafting gameplay systems, mechanics and game modes
• Familiarity with American Football and football products
• Understanding of the game design process and mechanics
• Experience with content-driven game engines (Unreal, Frostbite, Unity, GtkRadiant)
• Ability to read and understand C++
• Experience developing in a multiplayer live service environment

Responsibilities

• Work with designers, engineers and other creatives to develop the vision and innovate on compelling gameplay systems.
• Implement and drive gameplay systems and/or modes from concept to ship quality.
• Align and collaborate with multiple disciplines and communicate the vision of gameplay features.
• Ensure a high-quality release by bug fixing, balancing, and creating a fun gameplay experience.
• Pitch ideas, provide feedback and rapid iteration with the team
• Build all-new innovative Madden experiences (mechanics, modes, progression, meta systems, tuning frameworks, etc.) that integrate cleanly into the core game.
• Quick prototype building of new features
• Create robust scripting-driven implementations (logic, state machines, event flows, data setup) that are scalable and maintainable.
