The Technical Event Engineer & Producer will work in partnership with the customer, management team, global helpdesk, and SIG teams to provide on premises support for AVI-SPL customers at customer site(s) with the end goals of delivering a world class Customer Service experience.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced corporate event production professional with a strong background in event production engineering. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has proven experience managing the end-to-end delivery of multiple events per week. This role combines event production leadership with technical engineering expertise, ensuring seamless integration of audiovisual systems, staging, lighting, and event technologies while maintaining the highest standards of quality, innovation, and execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning and Coordination:
    • Act as a liaison to produce events, maintaining communication between stakeholders, support staff, and vendors, and lead communication and oversight of departments, providing project updates
    • Lead planning calls with stakeholders to determine production requirements and offer solutions that align with the standard and fit the scope and budget of the client
    • Oversee meeting production timelines and deliverables, ensuring timely entry into project management trackers for accurate metrics and costs
    • Develop event technical scope and detailed plans, including run of show, timelines, budgets, statement of works and logistics to share with stakeholders, and/or support.
  • Production Management:
    • Oversee a production space and internal team of engineers, ensuring the upkeep of technology and facilities this includes pre-event, during, and post event.
    • Lead communication and oversight of departments, providing timely project updates to internal leadership and client project leads and manage production timelines and deliverables associated with each phase of the meeting lifecycle
    • Oversee all technical and production of live events, including rehearsals, audio-visual setup, lighting, staging & meeting platforms.
  • Event Execution:
    • Manage the events’ execution as determined in the pre-planning and planning stages, lead the on-site execution of events ensuring all elements run smoothly and on schedule
    • Act as a Show caller on event days, managing and leading the crew, and liaising with clients
    • Collaborate with event management teams on content and support needs
    • Supervise event staff, including coordinators, technicians, and additional crew.
    • Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the event and implement solutions quickly, and ensure compliance with all safety requirements
  • Post-Event Evaluation:
    • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success of the event and identify areas for improvement.
    • Prepare post event analytics on event outcomes, including financials and add information to the project management tracker. Update event details in the shared calendar system and populate accurate post-event metrics and costs
    • Deliver high-quality post-event deliverables in a timely manner to clients
Technical Event Support & Control Room Operations
  • Lead and execute events in partnership with technical staff and event teams.
  • Operate control room technologies with an emphasis on:
    • TriCaster systems
    • Audio mixing consoles
    • Video switching systems
    • Streaming and conferencing technologies
  • Execute all aspects of multimedia event support including setup, testing, operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and teardown.
Conference Room & Infrastructure Support
  • Analyze trouble ticket trends, and perform root cause analysis, to improve room performance and service reliability.
  • Assess business impact of outages and major incidents and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Serve as the lead technical contact for production operations, maintenance activities, and technical support.
  • Support the deployment of new event spaces and production facilities.
  • Conduct room readiness validation and acceptance testing for newly deployed spaces.
  • Interface with clients and business partners to implement scheduling, reporting, and operational procedures.
AV Systems Installation & Support
  • Perform pre-event setup, testing, operation, and teardown of audiovisual and videoconferencing equipment.
  • Support off-site events by deploying and operating:
    • Video projection systems
    • Audio systems
    • Cameras
    • Microphones
    • Computers
    • Videoconferencing platforms
    • Integrated AV systems
  • Install portable and non-integrated audiovisual solutions in temporary and non-traditional event environments.
  • Provide end-user training and operational guidance for supported technologies.
Incident Management & Technical Troubleshooting
  • Perform first- and second-level technical troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Manage escalations and coordinate with engineering teams and vendors when required.
  • Create, monitor, update, and resolve service tickets in accordance with established procedures.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and coordinate repair or replacement activities.
  • Support high-profile events, executive meetings, town halls, and special productions requiring elevated service levels.
  • Maintain adherence to all documentation, service procedures, and operational standards.
Asset Management & Continuous Improvement
  • Compile, maintain, and audit production equipment inventories.
  • Manage spare equipment inventories and coordinate deployment as needed.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance inspections and auditorium health checks.
  • Identify technology improvements that increase operational efficiency, reliability, and user experience.
  • Collaborate with technology vendors and service providers to support infrastructure and production requirements.
  • Provide recommendations that improve production performance, support quality, and operational effectiveness.

  • AVI-SPL reserves the right to alter work hours and work location as necessary. Work hours may vary based on client requirements and may include travel to various locations in support of the account.
  • This position will generally work on customer sites and may deal with a construction site type of work environment.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must-Haves
  • 5+ years of event production experience, including audio-visual production such as onsite, hybrid and virtual engagements for simple meetings to complex broadcasts, preferably in a corporate setting.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver concepts with all levels of employees, including C-Suite executives.
  • Positive-minded problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule from time to time to support before & after-hours events and travel to support potential offsite events.
  • Proficiency in event management software and tools.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of the latest trends and technologies associated with event production.
  • Certification in event planning or project management.
  • Preferred experience with collaboration technologies (e.g., Microsoft Teams) and event management or project management software.
  • Formal education in Electronics or related field
