Responsibilities

  • Support evaluations at customer sites for new/existing products.
  • Identify packaging equipment and processing parameters.
  • Interacts with customers to resolve performance issues.
  • Investigate production data from rejected material for trends.
  • Assist R&D production trials in BOPP assets.
  • Bridge between market and production to implement improvements.
  • Provide support to internal groups (sales, quality, purchasing, manufacturing).
  • Prepare trip reports after customer visits.
  • Assist with root cause analysis in quality claims.

TITLE: Technical Engineer II

POSITION OBJECTIVE: The Technical Engineer will provide expert support to customers and internal teams regarding the application, performance, and troubleshooting of Inteplast BOPP films Division Products. This role bridges product development, customer engagement, and quality assurance to ensure customer satisfaction and support the commercialization of new film grades for various applications including packaging, labels, lamination, and industrial markets.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Plastic Engineering, Polymer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field is preferred or at least 5 year’s related experience in BOPP or plastic films or flexible packaging industry conversion and end users.
  • Analytical approach to problem solving, root causes failure analysis.
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of basic statistical tools-Minitab is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English at all levels and across all functions.
  • Other skills-Must be able to travel by car or airplane, travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Results-oriented mentality, completes tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Able to present ideas and results in a logical and concise manner.
  • Effectively communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
  • Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
  • Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supports evaluations at customer sites for new and existing products as requested by management.
  • Helps to identify packaging equipment, processing parameters, and competitor’s film in order to successfully qualify our films.
  • Interacts with customers, as needed, to facilitate a resolution when there are issues or complaints related to performance of our product.
  • Investigates production data on customer rejected material to determine whether a trend or incidental occurrence .
  • Assists and supports R & D production trials in BOPP assets.
  • Serves as a bridge between the market place and production to bring improvements of our products in the field.
  • Provides support to internal customers-sales, quality, purchasing, and manufacturing.
  • Prepares trip reports to summarize activities after customer visits.
  • Assist with root cause analysis in some specific quality claims.
WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION
  • Inside environmental conditions protected from weather conditions not necessarily temperature conditions.
  • Outside environmental conditions, no effective protection from weather.
  • Subject to extreme cold, temperatures below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
  • Subject to extreme heat, temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour.
  • Subject to noise causing reason to shout in order to be heard above the noise level.
  • At least 75% of the job could be completed in an office environment.
