Job summary

Balluff Inc. in Florence, KY invites applications for a Technical Displays Co-op.

The role provides hands-on experience designing, assembling, wiring, and programming product display boards and automated demonstrations used for trade shows and customer engagement. You will develop and maintain sales demonstration materials, support trade show activities, and gain exposure to industrial automation while building technical and project coordination skills.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a technical degree program; related field preferred.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Visio or SolidWorks experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design, development, assembly, wiring, and programming of product display boards and demos.
• Develop and maintain sales demo materials, manuals, BOMs, and documentation.
• Support trade show prep and execution under the Technical Displays team.
• Assist setup, testing, and maintenance of demonstration equipment.
• Attend technical trainings and apply concepts to projects.
• Support colleagues to complete assigned responsibilities.

Position Summary

The Technical Displays Co-op supports the design, development, assembly, wiring, and programming of product display boards and functional automated demonstrations used for trade shows, sales activities, and customer engagement. This role provides hands‑on experience with industrial automation technologies while developing technical, organizational, and project coordination skills in a collaborative team environment.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with the design, development, assembly, wiring, and programming of product display boards and functional automated demonstrations.


• Develop new and maintain existing sales demonstration materials and supporting documentation, including exhibit user manuals, demo sheets, bills of material, and other required documentation.


• Support trade show preparation and execution activities under the direction of the Technical Displays team.


• Assist with the setup, testing, organization, and maintenance of technical demonstration equipment and displays.


• Attend technical training sessions and apply learned concepts to assigned projects.


• Assist other employees in the accomplishment of their assigned responsibilities as requested.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Combination of office and hands‑on technical workspace.


• Frequent computer use, including Microsoft Office applications and technical design software.


• Mechanical assembly work utilizing basic hand tools.


• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.


• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.


• Position is based onsite at Balluff's Florence, KY facility and requires residence within a reasonable commuting distance.

Expected schedule is full-time, generally Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some flexibility available to accommodate academic schedules and course requirements.

Qualifications: What You Bring

• Current enrollment in a technical degree program, preferably Electromechanical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


• Experience with Visio and/or SolidWorks preferred.


• Strong verbal and written communication skills.


• Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple assignments.


• Strong problem‑solving and reasoning skills.


• Mechanical aptitude, experience using basic hand tools, and an interest in hands‑on technical work preferred.


• Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
