Ladders seeks a Technical Director-Train Control/ATS to lead technical strategy for rail control and automation systems. This remote role partners with clients, suppliers, and project teams to evaluate upgrades, review vendor deliverables, and improve system performance and reliability.

The ideal candidate has 20+ years in rail software, 10+ years implementing CBTC/centralized traffic control, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, communications, mathematics, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• 20+ years of related work experience.
• 10+ years of experience implementing software-based rail systems.
• Strong understanding of Centralized Traffic Control Systems and CBTC systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Chair technical working groups and lead discussions with CBTC/ATS suppliers.
• Manage teams assessing feasibility of proposed upgrades and new technology.
• Lead direct teams and communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
• Support the review and acceptance of vendor work products for ATS enhancements.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to minimize downtime and enhance system performance.

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Technical Director-Train Control/ATS to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space.

This remote leadership role will guide technical strategy and execution across rail control and automation systems. The position will partner closely with clients, suppliers, and project teams to evaluate upgrades, review vendor deliverables, and improve system performance and reliability. It is well suited for an experienced technical leader who can balance deep subject-matter expertise with strong stakeholder management and team leadership.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $157,500 – $283,500 annually
