Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an experienced Senior Hydraulic and Hydrology Engineer to join our water resources team in Atlanta. You will lead the analysis and design of hydraulic structures and manage complex stormwater projects, mentoring junior staff and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with a Water Resources focus, a PE license, and at least 12 years in hydraulic/hydrology engineering, plus a Certified Floodplain Manager credential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Water Resources.
• PE license required.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in hydraulic and hydrology engineering.
• Certified Floodplain Manager.

Responsibilities

• Lead the analysis and design of hydraulic structures (dams, channels, culverts, spillways, stormwater systems).
• Oversee hydrologic and hydraulic modeling with HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS/SWMM.
• Develop and review technical reports, designs, specifications and permit drawings.
• Collaborate with civil engineers, environmental scientists, urban planners.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
• Lead a client or sector program when needed.
• Conduct site visits and inspections for progress and QC.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
