WSP in the United States invites an experienced Senior Hydraulic and Hydrology Engineer to join our water resources team in Atlanta. You will lead hydraulic analyses for dams, channels, spillways, and stormwater systems, and mentor junior engineers across projects.

You will collaborate with civil engineers, environmental scientists, and planners to deliver technically sound designs, reports, and permit drawings, while ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Water Resources.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in hydraulic and hydrology engineering or a closely related field.
  • Certified Floodplain Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the analysis and design of hydraulic structures, including dams, channels, culverts, spillways, and stormwater management systems.
  • Oversee and conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using industry-standard software (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM).
  • Develop and review technical reports, designs, specifications and permit drawings.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, environmental scientists, and urban planners.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and staff.
  • Ensure projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, and standards.
  • Ability to lead a client or sector program.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project progress and ensure quality control.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
