Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle is seeking a CAD designer to prepare design layouts, create detail parts, assemblies, and installation models, and release data sets using Creo Parametric and PLM tools.

You will interface with vehicle subsystem teams to route harnessing, review drawings for conformance to specs, and apply standard engineering methods to balance cost, schedule, and performance. A bachelor’s degree and 4+ years in aerospace are preferred.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in aerospace development or similar industry.
  • Proficiency in drawing generation and release processes using Creo Parametric and Windchill.
  • Knowledge of standard avionics components and harness routing in Creo.
  • Knowledge of avionics brackets and secondary support structures.
  • Experience managing large CAD assemblies and BOMs.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team responsible for selecting materials, manufacturing processes, and developing design to produce world-class engineered products.
  • Excellent attention to detail and task ownership, someone who demonstrates pride in all work and willingness to perform low-level tasks when needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
  • 7+ years proven experience.
  • Experience with Zuken.
  • Proficiency in standard fits, tolerance stacks, and GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5).
  • Experience with tube and pipe routing in Creo.
  • Knowledge of standard installation and fabrication methods of fluid systems (tube stock, fittings, connections, fasteners, welding, etc.).
Base Pay Range

CA applicants: $39.34 - $55.07 per hour
CO applicants: $36.06 - $50.48 per hour
WA applicants: $39.34 - $55.07 per hour
