Job summary

Jobtailor in Alabama seeks an experienced aerospace CAD engineer to design layouts, create detail parts and assemblies, and release data sets using Creo Parametric and PLM tools, ensuring compliance with specifications. You will interface with subsystem teams to route harnessing, review drawings against standards, and apply GD&T analysis to balance cost, schedule and performance while supporting world-class products.

Required: 4+ years in aerospace or similar, a B.S.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of aerospace development or similar industry.
• Proficiency in Creo Parametric and Windchill drawing release processes.
• Knowledge of avionics components and harness routing in Creo.
• Knowledge of avionics brackets and secondary support structures.
• Experience managing large CAD assemblies and BOMs.
• Experience with cross‑functional teams on materials and processes.
• Strong attention to detail and ownership; willing to do low‑level tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering (preferred).
• 7+ years proven experience (preferred).
• Experience with Zuken (preferred).
• Proficiency in fits, tolerance stacks, and GD&T (ASME Y14.5) (preferred).
• Experience with tube and pipe routing in Creo (preferred).
• Knowledge of fluid systems installation and fabrication methods (preferred).

• Preparing design layouts, creating detail part, assembly, and installation models, and releasing data sets using CAD and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.
• Applying relevant company (design, drafting, parts) techniques to plan, layout, and maintain data depicting engineering designs (detail, assembly and installation drawings or MBDs).
• Interface with other vehicle subsystem teams to route harnessing in the vehicle model.
• Reviewing engineering drawing and designs to ensure alignment to established specifications and standards.
• Implementing engineering and manufacturing standard methodologies to achieve a balanced approach to cost, schedule and performance requirements.
