Job summary

IDR, Inc. is seeking a Technical Data Analyst in Chicago, IL to support data governance and modernization for a financial services client.

You will work onsite to strengthen data quality, ensure data lineage, and drive end-to-end requirements for evolving financial data systems. You will combine analytics with platform modernization using SQL, ETL, and modern data tooling to validate solutions and keep data reliable across connected systems.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a technical data analyst.
• Finance modernization experience including subledgers and GAAP reporting.
• Strong SQL, ETL development, and data transformation skills.
• Experience with Databricks, medallion architecture, and Azure-based data platforms.
• Ability to create and manage data lineage across multiple systems, including legacy environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide data analysis support for finance transformation projects and data governance initiatives.
• Support the implementation and modernization of financial data systems, including end-to-end delivery of requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain accurate data lineage and data quality across systems.
• Use SQL, ETL, and modern data platform capabilities to develop and validate data solutions.
• Lead workstreams independently, managing issues and communicating technical details to stakeholders.
