Job summary

Airbus India Private Limited in Seattle is seeking a seasoned Technical Data Specialist to manage ATA chapters and author manuals (AMM/IPC/TSM) in line with specifications, contracts and EN9100 requirements.

You will mentor juniors, drive process improvements, assess design inputs and coordinate with design offices, airlines and suppliers, with advanced English mandatory for global collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) degree or Aeronautical/other Engineering Degree with knowledge/exposure to aircraft maintenance domain.
  • 5+ years experience in the technical data domain.
  • Basic knowledge of aircraft and aeronautics.
  • Knowledge of aircraft systems.
  • Experience with aircraft maintenance.
  • Knowledge of technical data authoring in AMM, IPC, TSM.
  • Experience with aircraft configuration management.
  • Project management skills.
  • Proactive, good team player and strong organisational skills.
  • Advanced level English (mandatory).

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of ATA chapters for all aircraft programs across Airframe/Systems/Cabin perimeters.
  • Write Technical Data authoring activities of a Manual (AMM/IPC/TSM) in accordance with specifications and quality standards, contractual commitments, configuration management rules, approved schedules, and quality standards.
  • Mentor junior team members and act as specialist for technical data topics.
  • Innovate and introduce process improvements in the technical data perimeter.
  • Answer to customer questions for complex queries relative to the scope of activities.
  • Provide efficient support to the customer under high time pressure (e.g., AOG situations), ensuring accurate and timely correction of technical data deliverables.
  • Assess aircraft design inputs (Mod & Mod Proposal, Service Bulletin, etc.) that drive aircraft evolution to detect impacts on technical documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with various interfaces: customer services departments, design offices, airlines, suppliers.
  • Lead continuous improvements for technical data processes and tools, and for transnational standardisation of ways of working.
  • Ensure compliance with EASA/FAA regulations (ICA process) and EN9100 for the technical scope of responsibility.
  • Provide continuous and efficient support to customers and all users of Maintenance and Material deliverables.
  • Respond to customer queries through TRM as per OTD/FTR targets.
  • Integrate and manage all design criteria impacting technical data products.
  • Assess and provide technical justification for all non‑integrated design criteria.
  • Manage all potential impacts of a criterion under the responsibility of ATA Systems.
  • Technical steering and monitoring with Design Office for SDRs and DO contributions.
  • Technical steering and monitoring of illustration requests with subcontractors for a given ATA system.
  • Launch preventive/corrective actions to continuously improve products, processes, and practices based on customer feedback.
  • Verify and validate incoming inspection maintenance or material procedures.
  • Manage technical data and services subcontracted activities in accordance with AP2539.
  • Monitor critical suppliers’ performance and prepare improvement plans.

Overview

There is an opportunity in Airbus Customer Services to join the Operational Unit “Technical Data Support and Services”, which works towards developing and delivering aircraft maintenance documentation to enable the safe and efficient accomplishment of maintenance operations by the customers (airlines, MRO, lessors). The products developed are AMM (Aircraft Maintenance Manual), TSM (Troubleshooting Manual), IPC (Illustrated Part Catalogue). To deliver the complete documentation at aircraft entry into service and maintain it throughout the aircraft life cycle is our main mission, part of the airworthiness requirements. The main challenge is to define precisely the consequences of design changes on the published documentation and understand the immediate impact on Customer operations, providing customised documentation in accordance with aircraft configuration.

Experience & Employment

Experience Level: 5+ years, with at least 1 year in an activity lead position.
