The Technical Data Analyst at JSL Technologies Incorporated supports Navy Littoral Strike and Warfare programs by building, editing, and maintaining technical data and documentation that contribute to fleet readiness. In this onsite role in Port Hueneme, CA, you will help ensure structured content stays accurate, compliant, and aligned with engineering changes across publishing workflows and program documentation.

Compensation: USD 26 - 30 per hour
What You’ll Do
- Edit, proofread, and format technical manuals and documentation, including implementing redlines and maintaining consistent formatting and style.
- Collaborate with engineers to resolve edits and keep documentation aligned with ongoing changes.
- Assist with developing structured technical content using XML-based authoring processes.
- Manage and update technical data modules, figures, and related source data.
- Conduct quality checks on structured content to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support database publishing workflows and help maintain documentation repositories.
- Develop or update simple scripts and tools to streamline authoring, data management, and publication processes using technologies such as XML, Python, JavaScript, and VBA.
- Assist with maintaining automated processes for technical manual production and data tracking.
- Support drawing management and documentation reviews to ensure alignment with engineering changes.
- Investigate technical issues reported from the fleet and help draft recommendations or corrective action summaries.
- Assist with configuration control for hardware and software items, including tracking changes and verifying updates.
- Track engineering inputs, metrics, project schedules, and documentation status.
- Contribute to briefings, technical summaries, meeting minutes, and other program support materials.
- Coordinate with engineering, logistics, and program management teams to ensure documentation needs are met.
What You Bring
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance level Secret.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality documentation.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to learn new tools, standards, and structured authoring processes.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Familiarity with technical writing or documentation workflows.
- Experience with XML authoring or tools such as FrameMaker or Arbortext.
- Exposure to scripting languages including Python, JavaScript, and VBA.
- Understanding of configuration management concepts.
- Experience in engineering, logistics, defense systems, or naval programs.
- Ability to read technical drawings or engineering documentation.
- Applicants must have an active security clearance and/or the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
