As a Streamer, you'll be deeply involved in our dynamic digital events like Global Hack Week, preparing presentations that are both engaging and educational. If you are passionate about Developer Evangelism/DevRel, if you're an aspiring content creator,or if you were always tutoring your classmates on tricky topics, becoming a Streamer might be a great fit.

You must be 18 or over for this position.

Is this a paid position?

Yes. We want to provide an opportunity for any student hacker to fully focus on giving back to the hackathon community without having to worry about how they can afford to do so. We view your work as a Streameras an alternative to a campus job or becoming a T.A. We pay all Streamers in USD.Our rates are adjusted by purchasing power parity depending on what country you're based in. We use OECD data.

What does the workload look like for a Streamer?

Streamers are expected to produce a minimum of two technical streams (approximately 4 hours of content) per event in which you participate. You will be expected to participate in a minimum of 6 events a year. You will be responsible for the preparation of your streams (including any slides or visual aids) as well as your audio/visual setup.

What experience are you looking for?

You should be passionate about developer education. Strong public speaking and communication skills are required, as are exceptional time management skills.A teaching or content creation background helps, but isn’t a requisite.

What does the application process look like?

The application process starts by applying via the form here. We’ll send you a writing assignment to assess your ability to scope, prepare, and deliver a presentation on stream.Candidates who pass the writing assignment will be invited to an interview in which you'll be asked to present part of your presentation as if you were streaming to an MLH audience.
