Job summary

NBT Bank in New York State is seeking an IT Support Technician to install, repair, and maintain our computer systems. You will work from standard configurations, troubleshoot, upgrade, and replace hardware and software under supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma (college education optional), 2 years tech support experience, and certifications (A+ and HDI). You should be able to work nights or weekends if needed and possess a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; college education desired but not required.
  • 2 years of technology support experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A+ Certification or equivalent required.
  • HDI Support Center Analyst Certificate, HDI Desktop Support Technician Certificate or equivalent required

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain computer systems.
  • Document, maintain, upgrade, and replace hardware and software systems.
  • Complete special projects and assignments as directed.
  • Consult and advise on use of the systems; communicate with employees regarding system issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Pay Range: $21.65 - $28.89

The primary responsibilities of the function include the installation and repair of company computer systems. The incumbent works from standard configurations, maintaining, troubleshooting, upgrading and replacing hardware and software. Performs a variety of standardized tasks under direction of supervisor.

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED, College education desired but not required
  • 2 years of technology support experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A+ Certification or equivalent required
  • HDI Support Center Analyst Certificate, HDI Desktop Support Technician Certificate or equivalent required
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have a positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment.
  • Strong PC skills in a Windows environment.
  • Familiarity with a variety of I.T. concepts, practices and procedures.
Unique Job Characteristics and Requirements:

May be required to work nights and/or weekends. Valid Drivers License.

Tasks Performed:
  • 45% Installs, repairs, and maintains computer system.
  • 30% Documents, maintains, upgrades, and replaces hardware and software systems.
  • 10% Complete special projects and assignments as directed.
  • 10% Consults and advises on use of the systems. Communicates with employees relating to system issues.
  • 5% Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
  • Communicate effectively with internal and/or external customers
  • Stationary 75% of time or greater
  • Move Objects to Maximum 10 lbs
