UVA Community Health is seeking a Technical Assistant - Nursing for PRN night shifts (7p-7a). You will provide patient care under RN supervision, assist with phlebotomy, and help maintain supplies and safety protocols across hospital and clinic settings.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED; 1 year of relevant healthcare experience preferred; Virginia Board of Nursing certification preferred. Strong communication skills are required.

PRN as needed position; Night Shift: 7p-7a

Job Summary: Provides patient care services, cleans, maintains and stocks supplies and equipment and applies the principles of standard precautions and infection control in a variety of settings. The Technical Assistant demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate for the population assigned. The Technical Assistant will receive assignments as delegated by the RN. The Technical Assistant will be able to access data reflective of the patient’s status and report the information needed to identify each patient’s needs relative to this information. The Technical Assistant will provide care based on established policies and procedures. The Technical Assistant performs clerical, phlebotomy, safety attendant and other duties as assigned within their scope.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required
1 year of relevant experience preferred. Previous healthcare experience preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.
Certification from Virginia Board of Nursing - preferred
The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical Demand Code: Medium to Heavy Physical Demand: The job requires constant standing, frequently walking, and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs. For any weight over 35 lbs., use Safe Handling Equipment. The base compensation for this role is $18.72 hourly.
Please note that the pay rate does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs such as shift differentials, clinical ladders, and other incentives that may be available for those in eligible positions.
