Coda Search is partnering with a high-growth organization seeking a Manager of Technical Accounting with offices located in NYC. This role will own complex accounting matters, support financial reporting, and help build scalable accounting policies and processes as the business grows.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in technical accounting or related roles.
• Big 4 background preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the subject-matter expert on complex technical accounting matters under US GAAP.
• Research, interpret, and implement new accounting standards (ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 805, ASC 810, ASC 740, share-based compensation).
• Prepare technical accounting memos, white papers, and position papers for management, auditors, and external advisors.
• Support SEC reporting and financial reporting processes, including 10-K and 10-Q.
• Partner with FP&A, Legal, Tax, and Operations on transactions and contracts.
• Assist with M&A activity, including purchase accounting and integrations.
• Support audits and act as a liaison with external auditors.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the subject-matter expert on complex technical accounting matters under US GAAP
• Research, interpret, and implement new accounting standards (ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 805, ASC 810, ASC 740, share-based compensation, etc.)
• Prepare technical accounting memos, white papers, and position papers for management, auditors, and external advisors
• Support SEC reporting and financial reporting processes, including 10-K and10-Q
• Partner closely with FP&A, Legal, Tax, and Operations on transactions, contracts, and business initiatives
• Assist with M&A activity, including purchase accounting, integrations, and post-close accounting
• Support audits and act as a key liaison with external auditors

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 7+ years of experience in technical accounting, public accounting (Big 4 preferred), or a combination of public and high-growth industry experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex accounting concepts to non-accounting stakeholders
