Buckingham Search is partnering with a large, publicly traded global manufacturing company on a confidential search for a Manager, Technical Accounting to join its Corporate Controllership team.

This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex accounting issues, partnering with business leaders, and applying technical accounting guidance to real-world transactions, not simply writing accounting memos.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Public accounting and/or public company experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience researching and applying technical accounting guidance.
• Manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
• M&A and acquisition accounting experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business unit leadership on complex accounting matters, acquisitions, and strategic business initiatives.
• Research and apply U.S. GAAP guidance to complex transactions and operational issues.
• Provide accounting support for acquisitions, divestitures, and other corporate development activities.
• Review financial reporting matters and support SEC reporting processes.
• Assist with implementation of new accounting standards and corporate accounting policies.
• Partner with operating companies during the month-end close process to resolve accounting and reporting questions.
• Support SOX compliance initiatives, internal controls, and process improvements.
• Prepare analyses and presentations for executive leadership and the Audit Committee.
• Participate in special projects that have visibility across Corporate Finance and Controllership.
