Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is looking for an experienced professional to assist in the development and maintenance of BMS and SCADA systems. The ideal candidate should have over 8 years of experience in the installation and troubleshooting of EPMS and similar systems.

Responsibilities include configuring communication devices, performing TCP/IP configurations, and preparing electrical sketches. Candidates must have strong technical writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Travel to customer sites is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of complex BMS, EPMS and SCADA systems, focusing on advanced configurable integrations.
• Perform basic TCP/IP configuration.
• Configure communication devices and troubleshoot communication link failures.
• Configure Modbus Gateway devices communication protocol and use applications like Modscan for troubleshooting and monitoring.
• Understand vendor manuals and configure vendor’s power meter, PDU, ATS, generators, STS, UPS, and battery systems.
• Navigate EPMS and SCADA applications for monitoring, trending, and retrieving data.
• Safely open, close, rack‑in, and rack‑out breakers for point monitoring.
• Understand PLC applications to load, update projects, and configure communication parameters.
• Prepare and review simple electrical sketches, CX plans, and data sheets.
• Perform simple routine electrical and mechanical calculations.
• Assist in reviewing supplier documentation for compliance with specifications.
• Have basic knowledge of commissioning, inspection, and testing of electrical components and systems.
• Understand basic electrical and mechanical theories.
• Familiar with basic power systems such as switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, power panels, protection relays, UPS systems, power monitoring systems, and other text equipment.
• Perform point‑to‑point and functional startup scripts on EPMS/BMS systems.
• Manage the progress of startup and issues lists using standards and commissioning tools.
• Write point‑to‑point and functional startup scripts on EPMS/BMS/ICS systems.
• Manage the progress of startup and issues lists in CX Allow and other commissioning tools.
• Possess basic programming and troubleshooting skills for PLC and SCADA.
• Be proficient with technical writing.
• Have knowledge of advanced mathematics.
• Have basic awareness of industry codes and standards.
• Demonstrate good communication skills.
• Be willing to travel to customer sites for startup and commissioning.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of experience with installation, troubleshooting, and/or testing of EPMS, BMS, industrial instrumentation, and/or SCADA systems.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience if holding a high school diploma, or 6+ years if holding an associate’s degree.
• Reliable attendance at customer sites during required work hours.

Preferred Technologies

• Allen Bradley PLC, Ignition, Distech, Niagara, Siemens Desigo, Eaton Foreseer, Schneider EPO, Open Systems Interconnection (OSI), Wonderware, Instrumentation calibrator/simulator.

Preferred Certifications

• CCST certification.
• Security+ certification.
