Job summary

Morton Middle School in Lexington, Kentucky seeks a Safe Paraeducator/Technology Support-1.0 FTE to assist a certified teacher in providing instruction to individuals or small groups, including students with disabilities, and to support classroom operations.

This hourly classified position requires at least 48 college hours or Kentucky Paraeducator assessment; duties include tutoring, testing, record-keeping, transport, lab supervision, and collaboration with families.

Qualifications

• Minimum 48 college credit hours or successful completion of the Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment or an Associate's Degree.
• Experience working with youth in an organized setting and some instructional experience in a classroom environment with children and parents with special needs, multi-cultural and multi-ethnic backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Tutor individuals or small groups of students, reinforcing instruction as directed.
• Monitor and report student progress to the teacher.
• Transport students to activities as required.
• Prepare and organize lessons and administer tests per guidelines.
• Maintain classroom records and attendance.
• Assist with lab activities and behavior monitoring.
• Provide setup for displays and AV equipment.
