Job summary

POLITICO is seeking an aggressive, enterprising journalist to cover the intersection of the technology industry with the Trump administration, Congress and Washington writ large.

You’ll report on the administration’s technology agenda, congressional efforts to legislate and oversee the industry, and the battles among government officials, technology companies, investors, advocates and other power players over the rules governing one of the world’s most consequential industries.

Qualifications

• Significant reporting experience covering technology, policy, politics, government or a related beat.
• Proven ability to break news and deliver incisive, unique reporting.
• Strong understanding of technology industry and political/regulatory forces.

Responsibilities

• Report on the Trump administration’s technology agenda, congressional oversight and policy debates shaping the industry.
• Develop a deep source network across Washington and Silicon Valley to break news.
• Cover policy areas including AI, antitrust, data privacy, cryptocurrency, telecom and broadband.
• Explain policy and technology debates clearly for influential readers.
• Collaborate with POLITICO’s Washington and global technology teams across platforms.
