Job summary

Lighthouse Care Center of Augusta in Augusta, GA seeks a dedicated Mental Health Technician to join the nursing team. You will integrate patient-centered strategies, support admission and treatment planning, and assist in group therapy sessions within a 84-bed facility dedicated to adolescents and adults with mental illness.

Qualifications include 21+ age, HS diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid, and willingness to obtain Handle With Care certification.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old with high school diploma or GED.
• Certified Nursing Assistants and Registered Behavioral Technicians are encouraged to apply.
• Valid driver’s license with no suspensions or major traffic violations for three years.
• Experience with children/adolescents with serious emotional disturbance and/or co-occurring substance issues preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or obtainable within first week of hire.
• Must be willing to become certified in therapeutic restraint (Handle With Care).
• Additional pay offered for lifeguard certification.

Responsibilities

• Participate in treatment planning.
• Assist in the admission process.
• Orient new patients to the unit and their program.
• Plan and prepare for group therapy sessions.
• Maintain patient, program, department and related documentation.

Website: https://www.LighthouseCareCenters.com The Mental Health Technician opportunity is a key member of the Lighthouse Nursing Team who will integrate and coordinate a patient centric therapeutic strategy with a keen focus on patient care; ensuring that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective programming is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services and in accordance with government regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements. The Mental Health Technician is responsible for observation rounds of persons whose lives are disrupted or complicated by mental illness, behavioral disturbance, substance issues or inability to function or maintain in the community.
