Job summary

Databricks is seeking a senior technical leader to drive strategy and execution across three teams: Query Observability, SQL Warehouse Management, and Account-Level Observability and Governance. This role sets durable architecture and raises the engineering bar across surfaces used by thousands of customers.

You will mentor engineers, lead high-impact projects to improve performance, reliability, and cost transparency, and partner with Databricks SQL, Unity Catalog, AI, security and platform

Qualifications

• 12+ years building and operating large-scale distributed systems, observability or governance platforms, databases, or backend infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Establish the long-term technical direction across query observability, warehouse management, and account-level governance.
• Design and lead high-impact projects improving performance, reliability, and cost transparency for customers.
• Build agentic observability and governance experiences across query, warehouse, workspace, and account.
• Partner with Databricks SQL, Unity Catalog, AI, security, and platform teams to deliver end-to-end visibility and governance.
• Mentor senior engineers and raise technical standards across the group.
• Champion reliable software and robust operational practices for products used by thousands of customers.
