Job summary

Global Payments is seeking a Full Stack Lead Developer to own end-to-end architecture and implementation of scalable applications. You will bridge complex business logic with modern React front-ends and robust back-end services using Java/Spring Boot, while guiding the team in an Agile environment.

You’ll design data layer interactions with Snowflake, lead code reviews, and drive security and testing to ensure data accuracy across partner hierarchies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6+ years of professional experience in full-stack design and software development.
• 3+ years in a technical lead or mentorship capacity.
• Experience leading Agile/Scrum delivery and ceremonies.
• Deep Java (Spring Boot) and JavaScript/TypeScript with React.js frontend.
• Strong SQL skills; experience with data warehouses (Snowflake/SQL Server) and performance tuning.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team.
• Architect and build secure, high-performance full-stack applications with Java/Spring Boot and React.js.

As a technical leader, you will act as a hands-on authority throughout the software development life cycle. You will drive the architecture, design, and implementation of highly scalable full-stack applications, bridging the gap between complex business logic, modern React.js front-end experiences, and high-performance data warehousing. By establishing rigorous coding standards and optimizing system performance, you will guide our engineering team through a fast-paced, Agile environment to deliver impactful solutions.

What you'll own as a Full Stack Lead Developer

• Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Serve as the primary Full Stack Subject Matter Expert (SME), establishing engineering best practices, conducting rigorous code reviews, and providing mentorship to help junior and mid-level engineers excel.
• Full-Stack Engineering: Architect and build secure, high-performance applications using Java/Spring Boot for back-end services and React.js for responsive, modern user interfaces.
• Data Layer Architecture: Design and optimize complex program specifications to ensure seamless, high-speed interaction between UI components, backend APIs, and the Snowflake data layer.
• Agile Governance: Actively lead Agile ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, and Retrospectives. Partner with Product Owners to transform complex business needs into actionable technical tasks, manage velocity, and remove blockers.
• Security & Compliance: Drive architectural decisions regarding secure credential management and API security, ensuring all development aligns with Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance standards.
• Testing & Validation: Oversee comprehensive multi-level unit and integration testing to ensure absolute data accuracy across intricate partner hierarchies.

What you'll bring

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6+ years of professional experience in full-stack design and software development.
• 3+ years of success in a technical lead or mentorship capacity.
• Deep expertise in an Agile/Scrum environment with a proven ability to lead iterative engineering delivery.
• Advanced proficiency in Java (Back-end) and JavaScript/TypeScript with a heavy focus on React.js (Front-end).
• Hands-on experience with Relational Databases or Data Warehouses (Snowflake preferred) and expert-level SQL tuning skills.
• The ability to translate ambiguous enterprise requirements into clean, scalable code.
• A proactive, independent mindset, capable of owning architectural audits and cross-functional collaboration.

• Back-end: Java (Spring Boot), Python, .NET Core.
• Front-end: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, React.js, Redux/Context API.
• Data: Snowflake, Oracle, or MS SQL Server (Advanced SQL).
• API/Integration: Apigee, Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Tools: Jira, Confluence, Git/Bitbucket, VS Code, IntelliJ IDEA, Maven/Gradle.
