Job summary

ByteDance's Infra-Compute division builds large-scale, highly available cloud and AI infrastructure powering public cloud offerings and internal products in the United States. The team focuses on AI training, inference, and agent infrastructure, expanding into Physical AI with data pipelines, simulation, and deployment across heterogeneous hardware.

The role leads technical strategy, architecture, and end-to-end delivery for major Physical AI platform components, mentoring engineers and driving

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or above in a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of software engineering, machine learning systems, robotics, or related industry experience.
3+ years of experience as a tech lead.
Deep expertise in robotic learning or AI training/inference infrastructure; experience with distributed training, GPUs, simulation, or data pipelines.

Responsibilities

Track advances in academia, industry, and open-source communities and contribute technical insights.
Own the technical strategy and multi-quarter roadmap for major Physical AI infrastructure areas.
Lead architecture and delivery across multiple engineers and partner teams; define interfaces and resolve trade-offs.
Define interfaces across the Physical AI lifecycle including data pipelines, simulation, training, evaluation, inference, and deployment.
Mentor engineers and raise the engineering bar across the team.
