Job summary

Lightmatter is leading the revolution in AI data center infrastructure and invented the world’s first 3D-stacked photonics engine. The role sits on the analog team designing high-speed transceivers and AMS circuits for next-gen optical and wireline systems in a hybrid environment in Mountain View, CA.

You will collaborate with system, digital, and photonics teams to drive block-level specs, perform simulations, and validate in lab settings, mentoring junior engineers as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in GHz-speed RF or broadband analog design.
• Deep understanding of Tx/Rx equalization techniques.
• CMOS device characteristics, noise, linearity, high-frequency theory.
• Experience with system/architecture teams to drive IP requirements.
• Proficient in SystemVerilog, Matlab, Python, VerilogAMS.
• Experience with 3D EM simulation tools.
• Mentoring junior design engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design high-performance AMS circuits for transceivers interfacing with silicon photonics.
• Investigate and evaluate new analog/mixed-signal topologies with chip architects.
• Lead discussions with multi-functional teams to create and drive block-level specs and modeling.
• Document design simulations and verifications for formal reviews.
• Drive block-level floorplan and reviews for IP.
• Run post-layout and mixed-signal top-level simulations for validation.
• Define production and bench-level test plans.
• Validate circuit performance in the lab.
