Job summary

Discovery Place is seeking a Science Content & Experience Specialist, Technology, to translate emerging technologies into engaging, accurate educational content and hands-on experiences across our museum network.

You will research, develop, and teach programs that explain AI, robotics, data science, and related areas to diverse audiences, from early learners to adults, while collaborating with Exhibits, Education, and Youth Development teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technology or related field; mastery of multiple tech domains preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to explain complex technological concepts to nontechnical audiences.
• Experience developing or delivering technology, STEM, maker, engineering, or informal learning experiences.
• Knowledge of coding platforms, digital tools, fabrication technologies, computing hardware, and safe operation of maker equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and teach experiences for diverse audiences, from Pre-K through adults.
• Create content and exhibits that illustrate how technologies work and why they matter.
• Collaborate with multiple teams to prototype and evaluate technology experiences.
• Mentor colleagues and volunteers in safe, effective facilitation and engagement strategies.
