CPS Energy in San Antonio, TX seeks a Technician Energy Measurement to perform calibration, service, and testing of field and shop equipment, including gas and electrical test gear.
You will document work per CPS Energy standards, work in shop, lab, and field, and travel to sites as needed.
Associates degree in electronics and SWEMA/Gas instrumentation training preferred; travel and safety compliance required.

Technician Energy Measurement performs technical duties in Energy Measurements, including service, repair, and calibration of electronic equipment, gas equipment, field test equipment, shop test consoles, distribution equipment, and PPE test equipment. Extensive documentation. Calibrations & repairs are documented and traceable back to the CPS Energy Standards Lab, and ultimately to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) laboratory.
Associates of Applied Science degree in Electronics or related field from a college accredited by the Southern Association of Community Colleges or equivalent regional accrediting body.
Shop, lab, and field environments. Hazardous conditions - high voltage, explosive gases, heights, basements, construction sites, high heat, cold, wet, dirty, and noisy environments, airborne particles.
Field environments include working in close proximity of (and within) energized high voltage substations, outdoor switchyards, and inside power plants. In-town and out-of-town travel for meetings, training, and inter-utility work.
Must be able to lift, move, and carry equipment weigh 55 pounds, with or without accommodation on a regular basis. Must be able to properly identify and distinguish between colors.
