Job summary

Vast, a leader in space station and space infrastructure development, seeks a Teamcenter Administrator in Long Beach, CA. The role reports to the Senior Manager, Engineering Information Systems and requires daily PLM support for engineering teams.

The position is full-time and exempt, located in Long Beach. You’ll drive NX/Teamcenter configuration, patching, and training, coordinating with contractors and refining system requirements to support design and manufacturing of complex space hardware.

Qualifications

  • BS in an engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years' experience administering NX and Teamcenter.
  • Experience working in a design or manufacturing environment.
  • PLM concepts/functionality, design best practices, PMI/GD&T familiarity.
  • Programming skills (Python, C++, KF, Visual Basic, NX Open) a plus.
  • Active Workspace Client (AWC) integration/visualization experience a plus.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, strong communication skills, working knowledge of design principles.
  • NX Administration/Configuration experience, including NX Part Families.
  • Production-environment support experience with Teamcenter 4-tier architecture and Rich Client/AWC-NX integration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily PLM support to engineering teams.
  • Perform root-cause analysis for issues pertaining to user accounts, access rights, material management, queries, part families, system integrations, preferences, and general configurations.
  • Support workflow processes and propose design changes and improvements.
  • Convert Teamcenter/NX requirements into system configuration changes following company processes
  • Gather, document, & refine Teamcenter/NX requirements
  • Coordinate contractors converting user requirements into Teamcenter/NX configuration changes
  • Participate in performing & testing Teamcenter/NX patching, versioning, and upgrades

Job description

Vast is developing next-generation space stations and space infrastructure using an incremental, hardware-rich, and low-cost approach. Vast is rapidly developing its multi-module Haven Station to ensure a continuous human presence in space for America and its allies, enabling advanced microgravity research and manufacturing, and unlocking a new space economy for government, corporate, and private customers. Haven Demo’s 2025 success made Vast the only operational commercial space station company to fly and operate its own spacecraft. Next, Haven-1 is expected to become the world’s first commercial space station when it launches in 2027, followed by additional Haven modules. Additionally, the company recently announced Vast Satellite, a high-power satellite product line leveraging its space station components and the heritage of Haven Demo.

Headquartered in Long Beach, California, and with more than 1,000 employees and over a billion dollars in private capital, Vast has built the facilities required to manufacture and operate America’s next space station. The company plans to develop future habitats and systems for the Moon and Mars, dedicated space stations for government partners, and other crewed systems that will unlock the expanding long-term space economy.

Vast is looking for a Teamcenter Administrator, reporting to the Senior Manager, Engineering Information Systems , to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of human-rated space stations.

This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS in an engineering discipline or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years' experience administering NX and Teamcenter
  • Experience working in a design or manufacturing environment
  • PLM concepts/functionality, design best practices, industry/drafting standards, PMI/GD&T familiarity
  • Programming skills (Python, C++, KF, Visual Basic, NX Open) a plus
  • Active Workspace Client (AWC) integration/visualization experience a plus
  • Comfort with ambiguity, strong communication skills, working knowledge of design principles
  • NX Administration/Configuration experience, including NX Part Families
  • Production-environment support experience with Teamcenter 4-tier architecture and Rich Client/AWC-NX integration
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Experience with facilities within an aerospace industry
  • Familiar with space planning procedures and operations
  • Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to easily navigate through different computer software programs
  • Ability to create and update request for proposals (RFPs), purchase orders (POs) and facilities work orders in an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to make independent judgments with limited information
  • Communication skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees, vendors, and customers
  • Logical and strategic approach to solving problemsAbility to read and understand basic floor plans
  • Comfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction.
Additional Requirements:
  • Willingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestones
Pay Range:
  • Teamcenter Administrator Level II: $98,000.00 - $139,000.00
  • Senior Teamcenter Administrator: $120,000.00 -$171,000.00
  • Pay Range: California $98,000 — $171,000 USD
