Job summary

Soccer Shots Portland is seeking an entry-level Team Operations Specialist to support our programs with administrative tasks, communications and coaching. This role offers an exciting entry point into sports management with clear pathways for professional growth and leadership development, delivering a fun and engaging experience for children and families.

You will assist the Director of Operations, coordinate with coaches and partners, manage schedules, and handle email and phone communications

Qualifications

• Must pass a comprehensive background check to work in childcare settings.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle to travel to/from office and classes.
• Clean driving record with no history of accidents or reckless driving.

Responsibilities

Kick-start your career with Soccer Shots as an entry-level Team Operations Specialist, where you will play a vital role in supporting our programs through administrative support, communications and coaching. This entry-level role offers an exciting entry point into sports management with clear pathways for professional growth and leadership development combining behind-the-scenes organization with hands‑on coaching that provides a fun and engaging experience for every child and a remarkable experience for every family.

We are looking for someone who will play a vital role in administrative support, communications and coaching

• Support Director of Operations with program coordination, communicating effectively with coaches and partners
• Work collaboratively to solve problems and achieve win-win solutions
• Partner with core team to translate operational plans into action
• Provide reliable communication support via email and phone
• Demonstrate strong time management and self‑motivation to operate independently and efficiently
• Coach classes using the Soccer Shots curriculum, while mentoring and supporting coaches

Schedule

Must be willing and able to work Saturday through Tuesday with option for an additional day of coaching (20-30hrs/wk)

Requirements

Must be able to complete an extensive background check with clearance to work in a childcare setting.

Must have a valid and clean drivers license and reliable vehicle to drive to/from office and classes.

Must have a clean driving record with no history of accidents or reckless driving and therefore eligible for company car insurance.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Google’s document structure and spreadsheets. They must record critical data in company spreadsheets and systems. Must be detail oriented and comfortable with a laptop, learning new systems.

Language Ability

Strong communicator required with the ability to write and track reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the general public. Speaking Spanish is a plus!

Flexibility Required

This position requires someone who can go with the flow and shift focus day to day as needed. Sometimes you will be on the field and others in the office but there is never a dull moment and we need an eager learner that thrives in this environment! We work hard and have fun at the same time.
