Overall Job Summary:

This position is responsible for interacting with customers and team members, supporting selling initiatives, and performing assigned tasks, while providing legendary customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%):

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts and have the ability to work varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as dictated by business needs.
• Support selling initiatives (TEAM):
• Thank the Customer
• Engage with the customer and/or pet
• Advise on products or services
• Make it Memorable
• Perform a variety of duties such as operating cash registers, merchandise recovery, participating in freight processing, completing merchandising procedures, assembling merchandise, performing janitorial duties, executing price changes, assisting customers with loading, and caring for live animals.
• Complete all documentation related to these duties.

Required Qualifications:

• No experience required; retail and/or pet/live animal knowledge preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, write, and count accurately is essential.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:

• Pet/live animal, pet food, and pet product knowledge preferred.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ethical issue resolution.

Working Conditions:

• Indoor environment with moderate noise.
• Hard surfaces like concrete or asphalt, adequate lighting and temperature.
• Shifts generally no less than 4 hours, may exceed 8 hours.
• Promote safety and adhere to safety guidelines.

Physical Requirements:

• Non-sedentary; ability to move quickly and safely throughout the store and outdoors.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Occasionally lift or reach overhead.
• Stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, climb ladders.
• Move throughout the store during entire shift.
• Access all store areas safely.
• Operate store equipment and process information accurately.
• Transfer merchandise up to 50 pounds.
