This position is responsible for interacting with customers and team members, supporting selling initiatives, and performing assigned tasks while providing legendary customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As a Team Member, you must be available, flexible, adaptable, and service-oriented. Key responsibilities include:

• Maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
• Working scheduled shifts, including varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Supporting selling initiatives by thanking customers, engaging with them and their pets, advising on products or services, and making their experience memorable.
• Performing a variety of duties such as operating cash registers, merchandise recovery, participating in freight processing, completing merchandising resets, assembling merchandise, performing janitorial duties, executing price changes, assisting with loading purchases, and caring for live animals.
• Completing all related documentation and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

No experience is required; retail or pet/live animal knowledge is preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to read, write, and count accurately is essential.

Preferred Skills

• Pet and live animal knowledge is strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Working Conditions

• Indoor environment with moderate noise levels.
• Work shifts generally range from 4 to over 8 hours, on hard surfaces like concrete or asphalt.
• Adherence to safety guidelines is mandatory.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move quickly and safely throughout the store and outdoor areas.
• Ability to lift or reach overhead, stand, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders.
• Capability to move merchandise and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must complete all required training and certification.
