Job summary

Slate is seeking Team Members for General Assembly, Trim, Bodying, Coating and Bonding, and Chassis tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in the USA. You will follow standard SOPs, meet daily targets, and emphasize safety and quality in collaboration with Team Leaders and teammates.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and may have automotive/manufacturing experience. Strong communication and teamwork skills are required, with a focus on lean production and problem-solving.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Automotive or manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly tasks on automotive Trim, Chassis, or Final Line following standard operating procedures.
  • Meet daily production targets with a focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Communicate issues or abnormalities promptly to Team Leaders.
  • Follow all safety standards, OSHA regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Participate in safety audits, wear required PPE, and report unsafe conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with Team Members and Team Leaders to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Ensure components meet quality specifications and report defects.
  • Participate in 5S, Kaizen, and other improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve workflow.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Team Member supports daily assembly operations within the general assembly department. This role is responsible for following standard work, producing high-quality components, ensuring safety, and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, value teamwork, prioritize safety and quality, and are excited to contribute to a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO
  • Production Duties: Perform assembly tasks on automotive Trim, Chassis, or Final Line following standard operating procedures. Meet daily production targets with a focus on quality and efficiency. Communicate issues or abnormalities promptly to Team Leaders.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety standards, OSHA regulations, and environmental guidelines. Participate in safety audits, wear required PPE, and report unsafe conditions.
  • Teamwork & Collaboration: Work collaboratively with fellow Team Members and Team Leaders. Support a positive work environment built on teamwork, accountability, and respect.
  • Quality Responsibilities: Ensure components meet quality specifications. Identify and report defects or non‑conformances.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in 5S, Kaizen, and other improvement initiatives. Suggest opportunities to reduce waste and improve workflow.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent. Automotive or manufacturing experience preferred.

Skills

Ability to follow detailed instructions. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem‑solving abilities. Basic understanding of lean manufacturing and production environments.

Physical Requirements

Stand/walk/drive for extended periods. Lift up to 30 lbs occasionally. Repeated entry and exit of vehicles. Work in water booth, noisy areas, or varying temperatures.
