Job summary

Potbelly Sandwich Works is looking for friendly, outgoing people to join our Troy, Michigan team. Earn between $13.75 and $14.25 per hour plus digital tips in a fast-paced, friendly environment. We reward dedication with solid benefits and opportunities for career growth.

As a Potbelly Associate, you will help customers enjoy lunch by providing fast, friendly service, preparing quality sandwiches and maintaining a clean, inviting space. No two days are the same in our busy shop.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years of age.
• Friendly, customer-first mindset for a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable in a bustling kitchen; knife skills are a plus.
• Ability to manage allergens such as peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish.
• Team player; able to stand/walk 3 hours; lift up to 10 lb frequently and 50 lb occasionally.
• Illinois applicants must be food safety certified within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Work multiple stations (load, dress, cash, prep, front) as directed by a Shift Leader or Manager.
• Comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness and safety.
• Restock food line, chips and cooler.
• Prepare sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream, etc. efficiently.
• If 18 or older, operate the automatic slicer to prep items.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils; take out trash.
• Operate cash register: handle, balance and follow cash handling procedures.
• Handle customer complaints and take delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring To The Table
