Job summary

The Wooden Spoon Cafe and Bakery in Denver's Highland neighborhood is seeking friendly team members for front-of-house roles. You will greet guests, prepare drinks, serve pastries, and operate the POS system while maintaining a clean, welcoming space.

This role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and reliability. Training is provided; compensation starts at $22–$28 per hour with tips, with base wage $16.27/hour plus tip pool. Benefits include insurance, 401(k), ESOP, and paid sick leave.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with friendly hospitality.
• Prepare coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty beverages.
• Serve pastries, package bakery items, and answer guest questions.
• Operate the POS system and accurately process transactions.
• Restock displays, beverages, and supplies during the shift.
• Deliver food to guests accurately.
• Clear, clean, and reset tables for new guests.
• Maintain a clean café and pastry area.
• Follow food safety and company procedures.
• Dishwashing and kitchen cleaning as needed; support opening/closing duties.

The Wooden Spoon Cafe and Bakery is a beloved neighborhood staple located in Denver's vibrant highland neighborhood. It is celebrated for its cozy morning vibes, warm hospitality and exceptional scratch made pastries.

In year 1 earn between $22–$28* per hour on average (with tips included). Wages go higher from there based on tenure and proficiency.

*Base wage of $16.27/hour plus tips through a tip pool system. Tips are shared across the team and added to your hourly pay

Key Responsibilities:

• Clear, clean, and reset tables efficiently to ensure tables are ready for incoming guests.
• Maintain a clean, organized café, pastry case, and service area.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and company procedures.
• Dishwashing and kitchen cleaning as needed, maintaining a clean and organized workspace is a shared team responsibility.
• Support teammates and assist with opening and closing duties.
