Job summary

Wegmans, a leader in grocery and prepared foods, is seeking a motivated food service teammate for the Deli. You will assist customers by selecting fresh deli meats and cheeses, slice and package orders, and keep displays clean and well-stocked to ensure quality and freshness.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service or grocery is preferred.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced setting.

Work Environment: The physical demands of this work are classified as medium. Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, repetitive grasping, repetitive hand and arm movements, occasional heavy lifting, bending, and reaching, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment. The average weight range of items lifted is 5–20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 35 pounds occasionally. Upper extremity repetition is moderately high and trunk movement involves moderate to moderately high twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction). The work environment is indoors and involves exposure to cold (33–55 degrees) temperatures. Basic tools and equipment used include slicer, knives, scale, and packaging supplies.; Collective customer service experience, internally and/or externally preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting
