Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Lead Industrial Engineer to help drive productivity in our manufacturing plants. You will lead industrial engineering efforts, develop proposals for rebalances, throughput improvements, and OLOT reductions, and mentor both hourly and salary production staff while coordinating with Quality and Production teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering, 3–5 years’ experience, and strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills to support a

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 3–5 years’ experience.
  • Must analyze and resolve issues quickly through root cause analysis and drive change back to production departments.
  • Must rotate to positions within the plant (Production or Quality).
  • Strong customer orientation with adherence to the Quality Operating System.
  • Able to execute to achieve results while managing multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to participate in union relations and be a team player.
  • Able to mentor the production organization (hourly and salary).
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.

In this position...

Lead IEs and support production to develop productivity proposals (rebalances, OLOT reduction, throughput improvements).

You'll have...

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
  • Experience: 3-5 years’ experience
  • Must possess the ability to analyze and resolve issues quickly through route cause analysis and drive change back to the production departments.
  • Must have the necessary skill set to have job placement flexibility and the expectation to rotate to various positions within the plant such as Production or Quality
  • Must display strong customer orientation with a commitment to upholding plant processes through strict adherence to the Quality Operating System.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to execute to achieve results, while organizing and managing multiple priorities
  • Must have a proven willingness to take a participatory approach to union relations and be a team player
  • Must have the ability to serve as a strong and confident technical mentor to the production organization (both hourly and salary)
  • Must have strong written and verbal communications skills
