Job summary

Virginia Natural Gas, a Southern Company Gas subsidiary, is seeking a Training professional in the Atlanta area. The role focuses on operational and technical training delivery, curriculum development, and program management within gas operations and safety contexts.

The candidate will lead instructor-led and field-based training initiatives, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, driving workforce readiness across multiple sites in the region.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Five (5) or more years of experience in operations training, technical training, learning and development, workforce development, or a related field.

• Experience delivering instructor-led and/or field-based technical training.

• Experience developing, implementing, or maintaining training curriculum.

• Demonstrated formal or informal leadership experience leading projects, initiatives, teams, or work groups.

• Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.

• Strong organizational and project management skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and learning technologies.

Preferred

• Bachelor's Degree in Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Learning Technologies, Business, or related field.

• Experience supporting Operator Qualification (OQ) programs.

• Experience in natural gas operations, utility operations, safety, compliance, or workforce qualification programs.

• Knowledge of adult learning principles and performance-based training methodologies.

• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning technologies.

• Knowledge of applicable regulatory and compliance requirements impacting gas operations training.
