Job summary

Publix Super Markets in Lakeland, FL seeks a manufacturing supervisor in the Quality Assurance & Food Safety area. The role covers on-the-floor leadership, scheduling, KPIs analysis, and ensuring GMPs and safety standards are met. Flexibility for all shifts and travel for training may be required.

You will oversee maintenance of equipment, assist with associate scheduling, and participate in job training while driving process improvements and production planning in the absence of management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to learn and perform all positions in the department.
• Must be able to operate a forklift and obtain forklift license.
• Must have good computer skills including Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Must demonstrate leadership and strong teamwork.

• Understanding and maintaining all department reports and procedures.
• Coordinating breaks and lunch schedules.
• Overseeing and understanding the maintenance of equipment, PMs and work orders.

• Maintaining GMPs and enforcing quality and food safety standards.
• Leading and driving improvement of plant operations.
• Analyzing KPIs and data; performing scheduling and planning in the absence of managers.

Required Qualifications

• Must be able to plan, organize and follow-through on assignments
• Must be able to obtain a forklift license and operate a forklift
• Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds
• Must be willing to travel to any specialized training
• Must have a high level of maturity, discretion, tact and judgment
• Must have good computer and software skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
• Must have thorough knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) program
• Must be able to use industrial strength chemicals
• Must have basic mechanical skills
• Must be able to climb ladders
• Must demonstrate excellent work habits in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)

Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
