Job summary

Celestica is seeking a Team Leader, Operations Quality in Richardson, TX. The role requires guiding and training Quality Support staff, reviewing defects, and ensuring conformance to quality standards across manufacturing processes.

You will lead shifts, monitor performance, and escalate incidents to management while collaborating with multiple functions. 4–6 years in quality/operations and a related Bachelor's degree are expected.

Qualifications

  • 4–6 years of relevant experience in quality/operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610, ISO standards and basic quality tools.

Responsibilities

  • Plan shift/hours and overtime for Quality Support staff.
  • Review defects, prepare reports, and drive corrective actions with the team.
  • Provide supervision and training to Quality Support staff.
  • Monitor performance, attendance and disciplinary matters.
  • Escalate quality incidents to the Manager when needed.
  • Follow Quality Instructions and feed back to Quality Engineers.
  • Understand product quality requirements and inspection tools.
  • Apply basic quality tools and ISO standards knowledge.

Summary
Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

Plan the working shift/hours and overtime schedule of employees (Quality Support 1-3) under his/her assigned area.

Review defects found by Quality Inspector, prepare report, notify and work with team for correction and drive for solution.

Provides direct supervision and training to employees (Quality Support 1-3) performing routine work.

Monitor and review performance, attendance and disciplinary of Quality Inspector.

Stop line and elevate the quality incident to the Manager as necessary.

Review contents in the Quality Instruction and feedback Quality Engineer as necessary.

Knowledge of the product quality requirements (IPC-A-610, workmanship, cosmetic spec.) and the tools and equipment used in the inspection process.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Knowledge of sampling plan procedure (AQL).

Knowledge of basic quality tools.

Knowledge of ISO Standards and general company's rules / procedures.

Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate employees (Quality Support 1-3).

Ability to communicate and coordinate with various functions.

Physical Demands

The job works in generally good conditions with occasional exposure (10% - 33%) to noise, odours, dust, drafts, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.

Duties may require sustained visual concentration on small areas, such as monitors/screens, sustained visual concentration on numbers, legal documents.

Typical Experience

4 to 6 years of relevant experience.

Typical Education

Bachelor’s degree in a related fieldor an equivalent combination of education and experience.
