Job summary

Corning is looking for an Operations Team Leader to drive production performance at our Fairport, NY facility — a 3-shift manufacturing environment where your leadership will directly shape team capability, output quality, and continuous improvement.

In this hands‑on role, you'll supervise hourly associates, own production results for your area, and partner across the organization to improve efficiency and reduce cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, and draw valid conclusions.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents, diagrams, and engineering instructions.
• Ability to present technical findings and project updates clearly to varied audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production operations to meet goals for safety, quality, cost, and delivery; prioritize schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
• Directly supervise hourly associates — assign tasks, conduct performance reviews, assess skill levels, and develop team competency.
• Identify and drive process improvements and cost reduction initiatives within your production area.
• Collaborate with functional peer groups and leadership to resolve operational challenges and communicate project and schedule status.
• Ensure team members are trained and qualified to perform assigned tasks safely and to standard.

• Directly supervise hourly associates — assign tasks, conduct performance reviews, assess skill levels, and develop team competency
• Identify and drive process improvements and cost reduction initiatives within your production area
• Collaborate with functional peer groups and leadership to resolve operational challenges and communicate project and schedule status
• Ensure team members are trained and qualified to perform assigned tasks safely and to standard

Experiences/Education - Required

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
• Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, and draw valid conclusions
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents, diagrams, and engineering instructions
• Ability to present technical findings and project updates clearly to varied audiences

Experiences/Education - Desired

• 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Yellow Belt or Green Belt certification
• Experience leading or contributing to Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) or Lean processes, including Kaizen, 5S, and waste elimination

The range for this position is $88,942.00 - $122,295.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job‑related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
