Job summary

UPMC Hamot is seeking a Team Leader for the Environmental Services team. This full-time position runs 6:30am–3pm with coverage every third weekend to maintain cleaning standards for patient rooms, public areas, and equipment in accordance with department procedures.

The Role includes supervising Environmental Services Aides, communicating with unit staff, and ensuring daily tasks are completed safely and efficiently in assigned areas.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED preferred.
• Minimum 2 years relevant Environmental Services or supervisory experience required.

Responsibilities

• Act in supervisory capacity in absence of shift supervisor.
• Report problems and suggestions to the shift supervisor.
• Communicate with unit personnel and other departments regarding needs to complete assignments.
• Ensure daily work is assigned and team members operate in assigned areas.
• Ensure supplies and equipment are available and report problems.
• Inspect areas to ensure proper cleaning and good repair.
• Follow safety and sanitation regulations and hospital policies.

Purpose: Ensure the assigned areas, including patient rooms, public areas, and equipment are properly cleaned according to the procedures established by the Environmental Services Department. Work with and coordinate assigned Environmental Services Aides.

Responsibilities:

• In the absence of the shift supervisor, temporarily act in a supervisory capacity; assume the responsibilities of the shift supervisor.
• Report problems and suggestions to the shift supervisor.
• Communicate with unit personnel and other departments regarding specific needs in order to complete assignments.
• Ensure that the daily work of all team members is assigned and that team members are working in assigned area.
• Ensure that sufficient supplies and equipment are available for subordinates. Report all problems to the shift supervisor.
• Inspect and ensure that all assigned areas are properly cleaned and in good repair.
• Follow all safety and sanitation regulations, reporting problems to the shift supervisor.
• Comply with all Hospital/Department policies and procedures.
• HS Diploma/GED preferred.
• 2 years relevant experience required.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
